Description

About the companyWe are HCI — working alongside NHS staff, we’ve created the largest number of health information videos in the UK. We’re also the team behind the Health and Care Video Libraries platform (containing over 900 videos to help support patients). We started in 2015, producing videos for patients and their families, and have since grown to become one of the UK’s leading digital health companies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, HCI deployed the important and highly regarded national video library, providing patients with accessible healthcare information. Our exponential growth is a result of our medical software tools and a highly skilled team passionate about supporting patients and healthcare professionals across the world. We pride ourselves on our successful implementation and delivery of large scale digital projects. With our extensive experience in transforming pathways of care, and our passion to empower patients with knowledge and tools to manage their own health, we developed CONNECTPlus — the award-winning multiple conditions app.CONNECTPlus empowers patients to self-manage all their conditions and treatments at home, allowing healthcare professionals to support and care for patients remotely. This not only reduces the pressure on healthcare services, but enables the employment of data to improve population health and wellbeing.Be a part of the HCI family of in-house software developers, content writers, videographers and project managers and make a difference to the future of healthcare.About the roleAs a scriptwriter for HCI, you will utilise your expertise to help write the scripts (content) for both our video projects and CONNECTPlus. You will be assisted every step of the way to ensure the final outcome meets the project brief. The process is collaborative and transparent: All of our videos are developed alongside NHS staff and subject matter experts across the UK. A client (doctor, nurse, health board) will request a video. They will provide all the relevant material or direct us to the relevant source of information to be included in the final script. The Project Manager will then ask you to create the script based on all relevant targets, sources, and provided material. Your written script will then go through a mandatory editorial and review process. Once greenlit, your wonderfully crafted and informative script is ready to be produced by our in-house production team of expert videographers, designers, and editors. The subject matter expert is responsible for the sign-off of the video before it is made available on our video libraries.Project timeframes can vary quite significantly, from 24-48 hours, to those projects with much longer turnaround times. In this case, we will inform all scriptwriters of a project’s objectives and aims, providing you with the freedom to assign yourself to a scriptwriting brief depending on your capacity to meet the project expectations. We treat the allocation of scripts on a first come, first served basis. Why become a HCI scriptwriter?Seldom is there an opportunity where you can make a difference in the world of healthcare while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of freelancing.Becoming a scriptwriter with HCI provides a rare and remarkable credential, providing you the opportunity to include additional skills to your CV outside your structured training and practice.
