Assist in Developing local Information resources Research pre-selected areas of medicines providing key data and references, which can be used to support development of in-house information resources. Working with the MI lead to develop and maintain multiple information resources. Review available resources and make recommendations for changes in these resources. Lead on Critical Appraisal Work with senior pharmacists in reviewing the strength and validity of the supporting data for new medicine applications for the formulary or change . Build relationships with the senior clinical team to support the review of complex data. Work autonomously to manage critical appraisal tasks communicating progress to senior pharmacist Update training packages on critical appraisal and deliver this to our clinical pharmacists. Support Medicines Information Perform literature reviews ensuring critical appraisal skills are included on a variety of subjects around medicines as directed by the Lead Technician. Support the development of a departmental research programme. Support the team by searching for useful references and source materials . Make recommendations as to resources which should be available and be used to support the department. Support the MI team with enquiry answering. Help review complex data from clinical trials in support of any enquires being processed. Work with the team in MI to assist in admin tasks and maintaining accurate records. Undertake work needed to provide an enquiry answering service. Document all work using the MI data bank system. Ensuring all answers provided are checked with a technician member of the team. Review evidence sources that are available and make recommendations for reviews of practice. Work with other members of the clinical pharmacy team to deliver these reviews. Provide necessary support for the Medicines Value Team Work with the MVT team to identify potential topics for review. Undertake reviews as directed ensuring a full evidence review is completed. Contribute and assist in the delivery of projects key to MVT. Support High Cost Drug management processes. Assist in the review of complex medicines usage data and translating this to a useable and approachable format. Interpretation of quantitative and qualitive data. Training Provide technical knowledge on how to reference information from multiple electronic sources. Lead on the training of critical appraisal skills working independently to meet the training needs of the department. Support the training of staff rotating through the department
