Job title: Payments Officers Department: Children, Families and Education Location: Croydon Council (CR0) Grade / Salary: Grade; 7; £33,351 – £34,341 Hours of work: 36 per week / Monday – Friday Contract type: Permanent x 3 / FTC x 1 until 31st March 2024 The Opportunity We are recruiting 4 Payment Officers for the Children Payments Team, Children & Families Systems Team, CYPE. The suitable applicants will be multi-skilled, flexible individuals with a demonstrable senior level of administration and finance experience. Reporting into the Children Processing and Payment Team Leads for the Children’s Payment Team, the roles will provide administrative, payments, data support and analytical reporting to busy social work teams, managers and corporate finance department. This role is hybrid working and the generally working two days a week in office – this could change according to needs of the service. About You The successful candidates must demonstrate excellent IT and administrative skills, be able to manage high volumes of sensitive information through various channels and from several sources, meet tight deadlines and turnaround times, have the ability to assess urgency and the need for escalation, and be a major contributor to a service working to support vulnerable children and families. Applicants will need to demonstrate the following through interview and practical assessment: Advanced, accurate use of IT systems, including complex databases Excellent organisational and prioritising skills Experience of managing payments through various channels Ability to work unsupervised, and also contribute to team aims and deadlines Commitment to and understanding of Data Protection and Confidentiality Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of safeguarding children is an advantage, but not essential.
